While doing some research on unsolved murder cases in the world, I found the "Taman Shud" Case. In 1948, a man was found dead, he left behind a numeric code which nobody could crack and ashread of paper with the words Taman Shud on them. The case lead detectives on what seemed to be a wild goose chase for years, and to this day the murder is still unsolved.
Another cold case I found was from Philadelphia, PA in 1957 which is known as "The Boy in the Box." A boy between 4 and 6 years old was found neatly placed in a cardboard box. The boy was naked and had just been groomed, nails cut, hair trimmed, they were unable to uncover his identity. The murder of that small boy still remains a mystery.
I found it very intriguing that in both of these cases, the identity of the person murdered was unknown. With today's advanced forensic technology, detectives can know the identity of pretty much anyone within minutes. It is hard to believe that earlier in history they had no means of determining someones identity without proper clues being left behind. Maybe if we knew who these people were, it would give insight into who murdered them.
