| Detective Elliot Stabler |
A current day detective we could take from TV is detective Elliot Stabler. Detective Stabler is a fictional character on the TV show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. This team of detectives focuses on sexually based crimes. Detective Stabler is a dedicated detective. He is a hardened man, stern and focused and almost always having an intense look on his face. While he may not smile or appear happy very much, Elliot is not made of stone. When he is with his family we see the side of him that caring and protective. He tends to be quite gentle and understanding with very young victims. When Elliot does smile, it can be either good or bad. He has his warm, happy-for-an-innocent-reason smile (like when he is playing with his kids), and he has his you're-screwed smile, which is reserved for when the bad guys get caught. He is a man whose job defines him. His team of detectives always have a mystery to solve and they take their clue and together they fight off the bad guys.

A great example of a current day detective are doctors. Doctors are very prestigious and everyday are solving mystery. Doctors have various of patients who have many unknown diseases and the job of these doctors are to find the cause of the disease and treat them. They are always thinking outside of the box. As a doctor they have to look at the symptoms a patient is having, run various of lab test, and diagnosis their findings. What makes them a detective the fact that they stand as super humans with skills beyond the norm. Doctors can do extraordinary things with medicine and all the other amazing things they can do. It always as people looking at doctors in a curious way one in which amazes people.
