My first all time favorite detective show is one I have grown up with but is still popular today. It is the one and only Scooby-Doo and the members of Mystery Inc. They always took it upon themselves scared or not to come together and catch the bad guy in disguise.
I recently started watching a show called Prison Break. The main character Michael is a genius architect whose brother was wrongly accused for the killing of the Vice President's brother. So, Michael, his brother's girlfriend and family have devoted their lives to investigating who really did it and getting him out of prison(even before he has been proven innocent by breaking out). They are everyday people who must be detectives to save the life of their innocent loved one before it it to late because his brother is on death row. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zxSwYyb2Vk
Both of these shows are popular because it was and is easy to get caught up in the story line and want to root for them to succeed. I want to watch Mystery Inc. unveil the masked monster to reveal the man behind the costume. I want to watch and root for Michael to help his brother escape form prison then be set free by proven innocence or until then escape from Prison to avoid death.
