Detectives in Today's Society

I believe there are many different occupations that could be identified as detectives.  When you think of a detective you think of someone who is identifying a problem and trying to solve it by evaluating the different elements that compose the situation. With this being said i feel like todays sports analysts are detectives in a way.  Sports analysts are always looking to break a story and be the first one to give you behind the scenes answers to questions that us as an audience dont have the access and the ability to answer.  Sports analysts evaluate statistics and interpret other data that in a way makes them detect certain phenomena that most people cant.

Another detective in todays society would be a teacher.  A teacher basically has to investigate what their students comprehend about the subject at hand.  Teachers investigate through giving tests or other evaluations that determine the knowledge obtained by each individual student.  Teachers are also like detectives because they are always watching to make sure students arent texting in class or cheating on evaluations.  This requires a keen eye and the ability to pick up on unusual tendencies.
