I love the show Criminal Minds, so I would consider Dr. Spencer Reid from criminal minds to be considered a current detective. He reminds me of Sherlock Holmes because of how smart they both are. Reid always goes off on tangents in the show and it's so funny. Plus his character is so corky, you can't help but love him.
Another current detective would be Agent Phil Coulson from the Avengers. He was the one that was trying to bring everyone together and everyone also had respect for him. Plus he always knew what was going on. I think everyone liked him because he wasn't a super hero, he was just a normal guy in the movie. Plus he tried so hard to defend him self against Loki, you couldn't help but love his character.
