The first example of a current detective that I thought of was Olivia Pope from the TV show Scandal. I think that she is popular because she is a strong female lead, who is very smart and quick at solving things and figuring out why things happen and different crimes. I think that girls, and boys, now a days like to see a female figure things out and be strong on her own, like Olivia Pope is.The second example of a current detective that I thought of were doctors and nurses. They're detectives of the body, constantly trying to figure out what is going wrong in a humans body, or what is going to happen before it does. They are popular, obviously, because they save people's lives on a daily basis and figure things out before they get too bad.
