Current Detectives

First, I think Dr. Gregory House is a good example of a modern day detective. Not only him but all the actual doctors like him. In the series House, Dr. House is a lonely, drug dependent M.D. who is the head of Diagnostic Medicine at a hospital. Much like other detectives, he strives to find a problem or a mystery, but in these cases he's doing it to save some ones life, not just find out what caused the death. "Being a lawyer is like being a doctor, you keep pressing until it hurts, then you know where to look". The series Suits on USA is about several Lawyers in a firm that is about to go under. Although there are many different twists in this series, I think each Lawyer acts a detective in some way. They do a lot of research to find loopholes of problems in cases so they have a better chance of winning. They act strategically to find what they want and use it to their advantage. I think the characters in this series display similar qualities to that of a detective.
