Knights are defined as noble men in the Middle Ages that fought for their kingdom. If we go solely off of that definition, soldiers and members of today’s military are the obvious answer to the question of today’s equivalence of knights. However, I feel as though we should recognize more than just the soldiers in combat. Although these people are not fighting in combat on the front line, their job is just as important. They keep soldiers alive. I’m talking about military nurses and doctors. When one thinks of being part of the army, navy, or air force, they typically don’t jump to the medical staff. These brave men and women are noble and they fight for the lives of our country. That, by definition, makes them modern knights.
