Two ways someone becomes a hero

1.        Two specific ways someone becomes a hero.

I believe that Uther becomes a hero in the viewing Merlin due to several reasons.  The first reason Uther becomes a hero and perhaps the most noticeable reason being because he defeats the Black Knight.  However, I believe he is a hero because of the love he shows for his only son by removing him from a situation which forth might kill him only to enter a situation that he believes will end his own life.

Also, I consider Merlin to be a hero.  Even though Merlin may not have defeated the Black Knight first hand, he still went out of his own way to ensure the safety of others.  The noble acts in which Merlin accomplishes in my opinion are very heroic, examples including the attempt to burn the Black Knight with magic and eventually forging a sword along with the help of a dragon that will be powerful enough to defeat the Black Knight.
