Becoming a Hero

A hero can be anyone. There are no major requirements. You do not have to have some special power or a freakishly large amount of wealth. By doing something that no one else could do in a situation that called for drastic measures can push one to the hero status. I believe that the winners of the Congressional Medal of Honor definitely show how one can become a hero. Each of these people did something outstanding that could have potentially saved many lives or stepped up when the task was at hand. A great example is of a more recent recipient who directed fire from the Taliban forces toward himself so his comrades could escape. Another example of how someone can become a hero is as simple as having the courage to stand up and speak when doing so could result in severe punishment and controversy. Rosa Parks is an obvious example of this. These are just two small example of the many ways a normal individual can become a hero.
