equivalence of knights today

The equivalence of knights today to me would be volunteer fire fighters. These men are called out several times a day to go save lives of all kinds of citizens that are in immediate distress. They throw themselves into house, barns, schools, and all other kinds of demographic areas that are of extreme danger. This men are also unpaid for all of their duties that they put forth towards helping out society. I feel very heavily on the fact that these men are our modern.
