Modern Day Knights

I think an example of a modern day knight in today's society could be a father.  A knight is someone who displays, but not limited to, bravery, courage, trust, dedication, and strength.  A knight protects the ones he loves, and is willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of others.  A father, similar to a knight, protects his family in times of danger.  A father would sacrifice himself for the sake of his family, and puts the lives of his family ahead of his own.  A father is brave for his child when the child hears a noise in a dark basement and wants the father to go check it out.  A family is able to trust the father as the head of the family who leads them in the right direction and provides for the family's needs.  Fathers do not display any signs of weakness, for that is looked down upon in today's society.  Fathers are dedicated to their wives and children and will not (or should not) abandon them.  For these reasons, I believe fathers can be considered modern day knights.
