Modern day knights

I think nurses are modern day knights, they go to work to take care of sick people and to save lives. They work long hours, sometimes odd shifts, and can miss holidays and special events with there family because they are doing what they love and that is there job. I consider them heroic because they sacrifice so much in there everyday lives for mere strangers that need them. Nurses are there for there patients when they just need someone to talk to, they comfort there patients when they have just been giving a life changing diagnosis, they make a patient feel better by just being there and listening. Nurses do so much for patients and there families and most of them are just strangers, that is why I consider nurses to be modern day knights because they give up so much to be heroic.
