Becoming a Hero

To become a knight or hero, it is important that you put yourself after the good of the kingdom and people you are protecting aswell as going to all lengths to protect. This was demonstrated in Merlin by different characters. Two knights accepted to battle to the death with the black knight to show their commitment to the king and the empire. When these two failed, Arthur then wanted to show his commitment by battling the black knight. These are heroic characteristics, standing up and accepting a challenge for the good of everyone around you. Merlin, on the other hand took a more quiet approach and still is considered a hero. He researched the situation and found a way to solve the problem, in which he did. By doing this, he gave the power to the king to defeat the black knight.
In the episode of supernatural, both of the brothers can be considered heroes. They risk their own lives to save others and try to overcome what is bad. By putting themselves second they show their commitment to the welfare of others and prove themselves to be heroic.
