Becoming a Hero

I think a hero is someone that does something to better society that the average person does not attempt to do. This could be anything from performing CPR to giving advice to someone in a tough situation. Even if they aren't seen as a hero to a large number of people, they are still seen as a hero to one person which is all that matters. Another way that someone becomes a hero is by being completely selfless. This means ignoring all fears/concerns and doing something out of the goodness of ones heart with nothing to gain. An example of this would be the police. They put their fears aside to help other people who are in a state of vulnerability.
