The Making of a Hero

Taking the lives of others into consideration before our own, without the possibility of reward or acknowledgement is a key point to the making of a hero. For me Merlin is the hero of the show because he saves not only Arthur's life but countless others and they do not even know it. When the two knights stood in the challenge for Arthur's sake it took a large amount of bravery which is noble. Of course bravery and courage is always needed but ,in my opinion, humility in power can be the greatest strength a knight can have. I wrote in my notes "to go beyond the line of duty'' and " what weapons do hero's really need?".  Hero's are likable other wise girls wouldn't dream of a knight in shining armor coming to their rescue. They are the genuine, kind-hearted  people who in the face of doubt still make everything seem okay by being willing to step up to a challenge. For example, in the episode of supernatural Dean and Sam took responsibility for finding the culprit of the virgin kidnappings. Even though the show had a different take on heroism, the brothers took it upon themselves  to protect lives of innocent girls from the unknown or in this case the creepy demonic dragons. They had good caring intentions  but still a lot of bravery without an external reward for putting their lives in danger.
