"You're a hero, man"

One example of a nobody becoming a hero would be the character Denzel Washington plays in Flight. It is a movie that starts of with Denzel being a pilot. He is flying his plane and it starts to dive into the ground. Everything in the plane stopped working. He's heading towards the ground with his innocent crew, staff, and passengers on board. Somehow he safely landed the plane. That day he became a hero. It was national news. There are a lot of pilots in the US but not one of them could have landed that plane like he could. That is how an ordinary pilot became a hero.

Another example of a nobody becoming a hero would be my cousin, Dante. It's nothing like the example above but it just shows how one person can have an impact on someone else. Throughout elementary school, junior high, and his beginning years of high school, Dante was a "bad" kid. He would pull pranks, not get his work done, and mouth of to the teacher. He would always end up in the principal's office. Dante had a hard life at home. His dad wasn't a great father figure. He had four children to two different women and was dating another woman. Dante's father ended up dying while Dante was in high school. That changed him, Dante started to straighten up. For his senior project, Dante decided to mentor a younger student. Dante saw this kid going down the wrong path just like he was doing not too long ago. Dante mentored him for a year. The kid did straighten up. He looked up to Dante. Dante was the kid's hero. He made a difference in the kid's life. And making a difference in someone's life is a characteristic of a hero in my book.
