A hero from the t.v. series Army Wives was Trevor LeBlanc. He was deployed in Iraq and was in a market place with his squad when he noticed a man with a gun. Before the man pulled the gun on everyone, Trevor shot him and saved all the civilians from harm.
Another hero that many can probably remember was Chesley Sullenberger "Sully". Sully was the caption of the US Airways Flight 1549, the plane that he successfully landed in the Hudson River, saving many lives in the process.
