Detectives in Other Cultures

The Coroner’s Lunch, written by Colin Cotterill tells the tale of Dr. Siri Paiboun. By what seems to be an elimination process he become the coroner in Lao, because he is the only doctor left. After a member of the royal family is brought to his table and bodies of soldiers start to surface on a Laotian lake, he becomes entangled in the middle of an international crisis.

The Prophet murders, by Mehmet Murat Somer, is a Turkish detective novel portraying the adventures an owner of a transvestite night club and his efforts to find out why two of his patrons are now dead on the dance floor.
